So, we’re out riding around at Durhamtown (imagine that!), Maggie is leading the train (as she often does) every thing is just super. Anyway, we take off out of the lot, cross the street past the crossing guard and make tracks for the main access trail. We jump on the main trail fly down the long rolling hill then jump our way back up to the split. At the split Maggie chooses right, we wind our way down to the next split…..right again. This sequence will put you on trail B (I think). So we’re moving right along and come to a sign that says Loop 2, Maggie looks at me…….I throw her a nod…….she spins the throttle and we are on loop 2. Loop 2 is a semi tight, through the trees, single track trail…….needless to say I’m in 1st gear working the clutch. We come to one short spot where the trail opens up and Janey decides she’s had enough. She pins the throttle, grabs 3rd and darts past Maggie. My first thought was…………nice pass! So I stay behind Maggs, twist in and out of trees, through some streams, down and back up some mid size ravines until we finally broach the woods back at trail B, 100yards form where we entered………..where Janey was waiting patiently for us.

Although in resent months her track skill’s have improved greatly and she has since earned her first win!
